Past Nesting

April 14, 2009 § Leave a comment

As I once said, my parents have a veritable potplant jungle even though we live in a flat.

About a few weeks back, it was confirmed when we realised 2 birds were building their nest in one of our plants. Yes, a potted plant. So for a week or two, we watched curiously while they gathered napkin scraps, twigs and dried leaves to weave their nest. Very ingenious creatures.

Then, we watched the mother bird roost and once in a while, kept an eye on her nest whenever she went for brunch. However, some idiot (hopefully, not a cat) had to come along and touched/move/shoved it, because one day, they abandoned the eggs and never came back.

And then, we were sad.
